This century-old funicular takes you from the heart of Bilbao to the summit of Artxanda in just 3 minutes, offering spectacular panoramic views of the city.

Discover Bilbao from a unique perspective!

Artxanda is one of the most emblematic places in Bilbao. It offers a great variety of leisure activities different from what you can find in the big city of Bilbao. The first point of obligatory visit is the Artxanda viewpoint that gives us a complete panoramic view of Bilbao from the Txorierri valley to the airport. It is like having at your feet a three-dimensional map of the city, the course of the estuary and much of the hills and mountains of the Territory. On a sunny day you can see the sea beyond Santurce. It is an essential visit.

Of course, in Funi.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see Bilbao from above. Get on the ‘Funi’.

In addition, those who wish can start hiking routes, walk along the different cantilevered wooden paths —with exceptional views—, or visit the vestiges of the famous defensive system known as the Iron Belt of Bilbao.

The restaurants in Artxanda are well known for their high quality products and elaborations. These establishments are generally of traditional Basque gastronomy. The Txakoli Simónfor example, is very famous for its grilled beef txuletas.

The Funi has its lower access in a neighborhood, Castaños, which is reached by crossing the well-known Zubi Zuri. Castaños maintains the idiosyncrasy of the ‘Bilbao of all life’.

And, within a moment, its clean and silent carriage will allow you to disembark at the top of the hill.

A visit is highly recommended.
