Autumn Gastronomy in Orduña
More than just gastronomy.

TIME
October 2023
In autumn, Orduña is the perfect place to enjoy its 0 km products and take part in activities in the heart of nature.
Gastronomy, sport, landscape, nature: the perfect combination for autumn in Orduña!
KM 0 MARKETS
Every first Saturday, the local producers’ market brings authentic delicacies for sale: idiazabal cheese, honey, a variety of organic products, bread, jams, juices, fruit and vegetables.
You can also take part in different gastronomic workshops: in October, a workshop on organic talo (unleavened corn bread); in November, mycological cooking; in December, beans cooking.
WORLD OF TXAKOLI
Txakoli is also present in a variety of ways. In October you can learn how to harvest the grapes at sunset in the vineyard of the Gure Ahaleginak winery and, once the work is finished, taste the wine during a snack prepared by the Larrazabal family.
There are also visits to the DO Bizkaiko Txakolina winery every second Sunday.
THE TREASURES OF AUTUMN WOODS
There are birdwatching trips every third Sunday of the month.
“Forest bathing” in autumn is another interesting activity: the season is an explosion of colours, smells and sounds.
Special attention should be paid to the ‘Orduña Onddotan’ mycological sessions around the 1st of November. This year, from 28 October, the lively taverns and restaurants in the streets of Orduña’s beautiful old quarter will once again be serving a wide variety of pintxos (tapas) and mycological menus. There will also be a guided mycological outing.
