A thletic Club Bilbao’s home, which seats more than 50,000 spectators and is very modern, occupies the same site as a century-old stadium.

Athletic Club’s women’s team has played several matches in the new stadium, and attracted 48,121 fans in a 2019 cup tie against Atletico Madrid, at the time a Spanish football record.

MONUMENT TO YOUNG WOMEN FOOTBALLERS

The sculpture of ‘Nahia’, unveiled a few months ago at the end of Licenciado Poza Street and looking towards the stadium, is a bronze casting that embodies the dreams and aspirations of young female footballers.

It depicts a girl holding a football and looking with hope and illusion towards the stadium. Artist Juan Villa’s work pays tribute to the passion and determination of female footballers of all ages.
