Pam Hoog and Alvarado at La Encartada Moda 2022

L ocal creators of fashion, accessories and jewellery showed their proposals for 2022 recently at the event La Encartada Moda 2022.

Aitor Goikoetxeais a Biscayan designer born in Basauri and winner of the prestigious ITS Responsible Creativity Award in 2021. In his collections he emphasises traditional and manual processes.

Ainhoa Fustelcreates bags in her workshop in Bilbao’s Casco Viejo, in her own workshop, made of leather that combine design and functionality. Each piece is unique.

Maitena Ganboa works in her jewellery workshop in Bilbao La Vieja. All her pieces are handmade in an artisan way.

Julen Báez, a second year student at Inedi, creates Giuliano Weisz, a brand that works with handmade crochet in Bil- bao, while Imanol Carretero

López generates here the brand Gu-Da Eyewear to produce 0 Kilometre eyewear.

At La Encartada Moda 2022 they shared space with Pam Hogg, fashion designer, singer, artist and DJ from Glasgow who marked a milestone in British fashion as the emblematic designer of the New Romantic look, being the name behind the style of the iconic Blondie’s Debbie Harry. As well as Antonio Alvarado, a designer from Alicante who set the aesthetics in the 80s of the Movida Madrileña, promoted the creation of the Cibeles runway.

THE ENCARTADA FABRIKA MUSEOA

La Encartada Moda takes place every year in a unique space: La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa, located in Balmaseda (Bizkaia).

It is a former textile factory (1892-1992) which is now a museum. One of its greatest assets is its exceptional collection of machinery dating back more than a century.
