SPRING SUNSHINE IN BIZKAIA, A SEASON OF GREAT EVENTS

Spring brings with it the reign of the sun. Pleasant temperatures, breathtaking sunrises, and magical sunsets can be savored from Urdaibai, along the Uribe coast, atop the peaks of Duranguesado, across the ridges of Enkarterri, or simply from Artxanda after a scenic funicular ride. Every viewpoint offers its own charm —stunning panoramas, a gentle breeze, and a leisurely stroll to the nearest terrace.

In 2026, spring also signals a season of unforgettable events. BBK Live, one of the world’s premier music festivals, celebrates its 20th anniversary in early July with a special, extended lineup that promises to enchant fans from near and far.

But that’s not all. Just days before, two of the city’s most vital cultural institutions will reopen their doors after years of renovations. The Euskal Museoa in Plaza de Unamuno and the Bilbao Museum of Fine Arts in Doña Casilda Park will once again operate at full force, ready to welcome visitors. These two cultural powerhouses are set to become unmissable destinations this summer.

The last week of May will put a new spin —literally— on Bilbao’s sporting scene. The finals of Europe’s two major rugby competitions return to San Mamés, bringing several days of the “third half” celebrations, with fans traveling from across the continent.
