The artist Ignacio Goitia (Bilbao, 1968) held his first exhibition in Bilbao more than three decades ago. Today, he has dozens of exhibitions to his name, some of them in France, Italy and the United States. “I paint architecture that speaks of power. And I am interested in expressing the presence of the past in the present”, he stated about his work in this same publication. Those words are perfectly embodied by the cover of issue 15 of bilbON.

Goitia is rebellious. A few years ago he had an accident while riding his motorbike. He spent weeks in hospital. When he was discharged from hospital, he decided to buy a new motorbike, bigger and more powerful than the one he had crashed on. He laughs out loud recalling it.
