The 28 beaches of Bizkaia
Bizkaia, a land by the seaside from Muskiz to Ondarroa

WATER
July 2025
The sun, on its journey along the coast of Bizkaia, reaches 28 beaches. To La Arena, between Muskiz and Zierbena, which borders Cantabria, from Arrigori, in Ondarroa, which borders Gipuzkoa. You will find beaches open to the sea, beaches in bays or in the interior of estuaries, small coves or extensive stretches of sand. There are beaches next to interesting flisch, urban and wild ones, equipped with all services, including assisted bathing, and those hard to access.
The great majority can be reached by public bus, on the narrow-gauge Eusko Trenbideak train, by public electric bike or on the Metro itself. Some are world famous for their surfing conditions, others for wind or kite surfing, and even for diving. Almost all of them have a lifeguard service. Some of them are nudist beaches. And most of them are perfect for families. You can easily find a place for some drinks, snacks or lunch. If you do a little research, you will find a gastronomic restaurant. A unique popular festival will be taking place nearby. Perhaps there is a rowing regatta.
Take the opportunity to watch from a cliff how the sun falls over the sea to see other beaches. But with nostalgia for these.
Click on each beach for updated information provided by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.
